About the Journal

Aim and Focus
The Revista Amazónica. Ciencia y Tecnología (RACYT) (eISSN 1390-8049, ISSN 1390-5600), founded in 2012, is a journal of the Publisher of Universidad Estatal Amazónica (UEA). Its publication is continuous with a biannual frequency (June and December). The RACYT has the purpose of disseminating and being a space where researchers and academics present their original scientific and technological results in English and Spanish (original research articles, review articles, and short communications) in various areas of knowledge focused on the Sustainable Development of the Amazon.

Scope
The RACYT is divided into two sections, one dedicated to Conservation and the other to the Transformation of the Region:

The Conservation session focuses on the disciplines that contribute to preserving the ecosystems that make up this Region. Manuscripts on legal or political topics will not be accepted. The topics of greatest interest are Biology, Forestry, Environment, and sciences for conservation purposes.
The Transformation session focuses on the disciplines that transform the Region's raw materials into products and services, complying with the precepts and pillars of Sustainable Development. Manuscripts on legal or political topics will not be accepted. The topics of greatest interest are Forestry, Tourism, Agriculture, Industrial processes, Phytochemistry, Biotrade, Environment, and sciences to obtain new and traditional products and services that lead to the Sustainable Development of the Region.

Publication Ethics Statement
RACYT is taking steps to join the Committee on Advertising Ethics (COPE) and assumes the responsibility of enforcing rigorous peer review along with strict ethical policies and standards to ensure that high-quality scientific works are added to the field of academic publication.
RACYT takes cases of plagiarism, falsification of data, inappropriate authorship credit, and the like very seriously. Our editors are trained to proceed in such cases with a zero-tolerance policy. To verify the originality of submitted content, we use Ouriginal to compare submissions to previous posts. RACYT gives credit, and thanks, to the reviewers for their work. Open Access License
The RACYT is taking steps to join the Budapest Open Access Initiative and adheres to the Open Access model in which the contents of scientific publications are available in free full text on the Internet, without temporary embargoes, and whose costs of editorial production is not transferred to the authors. This policy proposes breaking down the economic barriers that generate inequalities both in access to information and in the publication of research results.
The authors assign their economic rights to RACYT with the promise that they will be shared according to the Creative Commons 4.0 License (CC-BY 4.0).

Manuscript review process
The evaluation process of the submitted manuscripts is carried out by simply blind or open, if the authors and reviewers agree, favoring Open Science. The first decision is in approximately two weeks, and the final decision is in six weeks on average.

Advertising, Announcements, and Contact
Announcements about academic activities are published in the News and Announcements section of the RACYT. These ads can be found on the social networks Facebook and Twitter. The contact email address is racyt@uea.edu.ec.

Information Preservation
RACYT, Editorial-UEA, and the Amazonian State University make every effort to preserve the information of their processes while taking steps to be included in an information preservation system such as PKP|PN, Portico, LOCKSS or CLOCKSS.

Articles published before 2023 are found in the UEA Repository for RACYT. Articles published from 2023 onwards will have all documents, documents related to the authors, and the review processes before authorization from the Reviewer deposited in this same collection.
