Cambios en las estrategias de ingresos económicos a nivel de hogares rurales en el norte de la Amazonía ecuatoriana

Resumen

Este documento presenta resultados de un estudio comparativo sobre los cambios en los ingresos económicos a nivel de hogares, usando dos bases de datos generadas en los mismos predios con una década de diferencia, 418 hogares en 1990 y 658 hogares en 1999 en el norte de la amazonía ecuatoriana. El ingreso fuera de la finca pasó a ser la principal fuente de ingresos para los colonos migrantes en esta zona, pasando del 25% en 1990 al 43% en 1999, mientras que los ingresos agropecuarios generados dentro de la finca decayó del 74% en 1990 a 56% en 1999. Sin embargo, el ingreso por madera se incrementó del 0.8% 1990 al 13.4% del total de ingresos por hogar en promedio en 1999. En general, la población local experimentó mayor pobreza representada en términos absolutos por la disminución del ingreso total promedio por hogar en USD 396 de 1990 a1999.
